Abstract

Rubber plants is not only produce latex but also rubber seeds as a by product. Rubber seeds can be used as an alternative raw materials to produce fish feed. Fermentation method by using Rhizopus oligosporus can reduce the HCN contained in rubber seed. The aims of these research were studying the effect of fermented rubber seed flour as raw materials of fish feed to growth and survival of catfish (Claries gariepinus). This research has been done on January to March 2018. It consist of five treatments and three replications, feed formulations with fermented rubber seed flour as raw as 0% (P0), 5% (P1), 10% (P2), 15% (P3), and 20% (P4). The results of this research showed that P2 was the best treatment with total feed consumption 23,14 g, feed efficiency 52,52%, absolute growth of weight 12,18 g and length 6,01 cm, protein retention 20,08%, and survival rate 100 %. Water quality during research were still optimum for fish culture. pH value 7,2-8,1, dissolved oxygen 4,3-6,4 mg.L-1, temperature 29,6-29,9 oC, ammonia 0,06-0,2 mg.L-1
