Abstract
Thisstudy was aimed to find out the effect of groundwater level and nitrogen fertilizer on carbon tethering on rice plants. The research was conducted from April to August 2017 at the greenhouse, Agro Training Center, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Inderalaya. Analysis of samples was conducted at the Soil Chemistry and Biology Laboratory, Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research method used in this research was Complete Randomized Factorial Design with 27 treatment combinations. The first factor was water level, they were T0 0 cm above groundwater (control), T1 +5cm above ground level, T2 -5cm below ground level. The second factor was Nitrogen Fertilizer, they were N0 without nitrogen fertilizer, N157,5 kg / ha-1, and N2115 kg / ha. The results showed that the treatment of ground water level +5 cm above ground level and the application of nitrogen fertilizer with dose 115 kg / ha had a significant effect on carbon tethering of rice plants. The highest carbon tethering on harvesting period were produced by T2N1 treatment of 24,321 g / plant when converted to hectare at 6.08 ton C / ha. While the lowest carbon degradation in the harvesting period was produced by T1N0 treatment of 2.783 g / plant and when converted to hectare of 0,69 ton C/ha.
