Abstract

Broilers was a type of poultry production industri which often cultivated because of the short harvest period and easy to maintain, so that in a short time it can be marketed. Temulawak is a traditional plant that is often used by the people of Indonesia as herbal medicine. Besides being used as a medicine, curcuma can also be used for livestock because curcuma has secondary metabolite compounds such as curcumin and essential oils that function as antioxidants and antimicrobials. This study aimed to determine the effect of adding curcuma juice on hemoglobin, RBC, and WBC of broiler chickens lohman strain in broiler chicken blood. This research was conducted on August 15 - September 13, 2022. This research was carried out in the Experimental Cage of the Animal Science Study Program, Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Blood samples were analyzed at the Sriwijaya University Health Clinic laboratory. This study used descriptive analysis. The treatment consists of P0 = Control, P1 = 0.5% curcuma, P2 = 1% curcuma and P3 = 1.5% curcuma is done in a simple way. The results of the study were the provision of curcuma juice to broiler chickens against hemoglobin, RBC and WBC levels were still normal, namely hemoglobin 7.8 - 9.15 gr / dL, RBC 1.97 - 2.29., 10-6./μL and WBC 217.4 - 225.1, 1, .10-3./μL. The highest blood profile values are (P1) high hemoglobin values 9.15 gr/dL, RBC 2,29,10-6./μL and WBC 225,1,.10-3./μL due to good temperature, environment and feed consumption.
