Abstract

This study aims to find out the contents of the Naruto film, as well as understand the position of Japanese women in a family concept in Japan, namely the concept of Ie. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with a text study research strategy. Data collection was carried out through the process of directly watching the Naruto film itself and recording and categorizing the content or meaning in the film. The theory used in this study is Stuart Hall's representation theory which explains the ability to describe or imagine meaning through language forms. The results of this study are the results of this study indicating that the representation of women in the Naruto film are women who adhere to the Kaku-kazoku culture, namely women whose focus is not on family like the Ie concept but is more focused on careers, and their position can be considered equal to men. men, this is different from the low position of women in the concept of Ie. The author did not find any indication that the creators of the Naruto film did not try to construct or incorporate the meaning of an Ie concept in Naruto animation, it is also supported that the Ie concept was abolished after the issuance of the 1946 and 1948 laws in Japan. The law contains "All persons are equal before the law and there is no discrimination in political, economic or social relations based on race, creed, gender, social status or descent".
