Abstract

This research examines about survival strategy public transportation in Indralaya, Starting with problem online collage have impact these policies had an impact on the economy, transportation, mobility, education and so on. One of the impacts felt by the community is in the transportation sector, namely public transport drivers around the Sriwijaya Indralaya University campus area who lost significant passengers after the implementation of the online lecture policy and experienced a decrease in income. This study aims to look at socio-economic conditions and find out the survival strategies of public transport drivers who are in the Indralaya Sriwijaya University campus area. This study uses the survival strategy theory of Edi Suharto. To get informants using a purposive method. There are 9 main informants, namely public transport drivers, and 2 supporting informants who are the wives of these public transport drivers. The results of this study indicate that there was a change in the socio-economic conditions of public transport when the online lecture policy was implemented, both in terms of education level, type of work, income level, and ownership of goods. while the survival strategy used by public transport drivers around the Sriwijaya Indralaya university campus area when the online lecture policy was implemented, the active strategy carried out by public transport drivers was by side jobs, increasing working hours, and involving family members to work, then passive strategies what is being done is saving family costs, managing income and expenses, and growing vegetables, then for the network strategy they owe and get assistance (Bansos) from the government.
