Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning independence and tutoring in front of biology learning achievement, and to determine the amount of contribution of learning independence and tutoring with biology learning achievement of class X students of SMAN 5 Palembang. This study used quantitative correlational research method using questionnaire and biology PAS score data of class X students of SMAN 5 Palembang as data instruments. The population of this study was all students of class X SMAN 5 Palembang in the 2022/2023 school year then the sample taken was 42 students with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques using prerequisite analysis including normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test, then hypothesis testing using simple regression analysis. The results showed: (1) There is a positive or unidirectional and significant relationship between learning independence and biology learning achievement. (2) There is a positive or unidirectional and significant relationship between study guidance and biology learning achievement. (3) The contribution given by learning independence is 7.2%, while the contribution given by tutoring is 23.5%. The total is 30.7% of the contribution given to biology learning achievement. While the other 69.3% is influenced by other factors that are not studied.
