Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui socioscientific reasoning siswa tentang isu PLTSa. Metode yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah penalaran socioscientific reasoning siswa melalui soal essay. Pengambilan data yang dilakukan menggunakan teknik tes yang berupa lima soal uraian pada materi energi terbarukan yang berisi tentang isu PLTSa. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X.7 SMA Negeri 1 Palembang yang berjumlah sebanyak 36 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa socioscientific reasoning siswa dalam berargumentasi tentang Pembangkit Lisrik Tenaga Sampah (PLTSa) rata – rata ditingkat yang rendah. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari ketercapaian nilai persentase siswa pada setiap komponen argumen yaitu, pada claims diperoleh persentase 55,56 % dengan kategori moderate, pada data diperoleh persentase 32,97% dengan kategori weak, pada warrants diperoleh persentase 10,03%, backing 1,07%, qualifiers 0,35% dengan kategori very weak atau tingkat sangat rendah.
