Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) terhadap hasil belajar kimia kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Palembang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu dalam bentuk kuasi eksperimen. dengan ini “pretest-posttest control group design”. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Tes hasil belajar kimia siswa diukur dengan pemberian pretest dan posttest, dengan rata-rata hasil belajar pada nilai postest 78,72 untuk kelas eksperimen dan 72,61 untuk kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t independent sample t-test. Jika harga thitung ≥ ttabel dengan α = 5% dan dk = (n1+n2) – 2 maka H0 ditolak, Jika harga thitung ≤ ttabel dengan α = 5% dan dk = (n1+n2) – 2 maka H0 diterima. Hasil analisis uji hipotesis didapatkan thitung 2,996 > ttabel 1,998 yang berarti ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar karena pengaruh model pembelajaran POE. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan untuk menggunakan model Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) pada pokok bahasan dan sampel yang berbeda serta menjadikan sebagai acuan dalam penelitian yang relevan.
