Abstract

Muara Enim Sub-District is one of several Sub-Districts in Muara Enim Regency with the highest population density, especially in Air Lintang Urban Village, with the highest population density. High population density occurs because population growth that is not accompanied by sufficient expansion of the area. As a result, environmental quality has decreasing. Domestic wastewater is the residue from the clean water usage produced by residents and contains organic and inorganic materials from activities such as cooking, bathing, washing, and toilet. Air Lintang Urban Village requires suitable domestic wastewater management planning using Satellite Imagery with Geographic Information System applications, which are expected to improve environmental quality in the Air Lintang Urban Village. This research was conducted using secondary analysis methods, the data used in the research used existing data, Satellite Imagery and Regional Population and Civil Registry of South Sumatera Province. The analysis was carried out using the Geographic Information System application based on SNI 19-2454-2002, Reference Book Technology and Sanitation System Options and Engineering Technical Guidance in Residential Environmental Sanitation Field of the Ministry of Public Works. The results showed that the density distribution of buildings and population in Air Lintang Urban Village with the densest density 7,066 ha, dense density 58,742 ha, medium density 41,472 ha, and low density 277,98 ha with a management plan at the densest and dense density using Off-Site Domestic Sewage Treatment with alternative management of Baffled Septic Tanks, Shared/Communal Septic Tanks and Rotating Biological Contactors, for medium and low densities use On-Site Domestic Sewage Treatment by using septic tanks and infiltration fields according benchmark to Indonesian National Standard (SNI).
