Abstract

This study aims to describe equipment planning, describe the organizational structure of the workshop, find out the implementation of equipment management, describe the supervision of equipment management in the workshop of the Welding Engineering expertise program at SMK Negeri 1 Suak Tapeh. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The location of the research was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Suak Tapeh. The subjects of this research were department heads, workshop heads, teachers and technicians at SMK Negeri 1 Suak Tapeh. Data collection techniques using interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative. The results showed that workshop equipment management, namely: Workshop equipment planning was carried out through several stages of the procedure, the first was analyzing needs based on the curriculum, determining priorities, and determining the budget. This planning involves all personnel in the organizational structure of the Welding Engineering expertise program. The organizational structure is formed based on a work letter (SK) from the school principal which is made based on the competence of each personnel. Implementation in the Welding Engineering expertise program workshop at SMK Negeri 1 Suak Tapeh is in the form of preparing materials and equipment, borrowing tools, and using the workshop. Preparation of practical materials is carried out at the beginning of each semester by following the existing curriculum. Borrowing equipment is carried out by being given an equipment loan card that is filled in before and after the practice. Monitoring of equipment at the Welding Engineering Workshop of SMK N 1 Suak Tapeh is carried out using borrowed cards and the use of existing equipment, and every day after completing practice all machines are cleaned and checked again. The final result of this supervision is in the form of an annual report which will be given to the school as an evaluation for future planning.
