Abstract

The meaning of the library is a building that is used to store a collection of books and so on, arranged according to a certain arrangement. The continuous development of the era makes people need various information obtained from the internet, books, mass media and various other sources. Technological developments that are increasingly developing have a positive impact on the community in obtaining information quickly and freely through the internet network. But it also has a negative impact that makes people not interested in reading books. Based on this, a facility is needed to build and make people interested in reading which can increase the interest, participation and also appreciation of the community, especially teenager and young executives in Palembang. Seeing the current developments in Palembang, teenager and young executives prefer malls and cafes as a place to study, work and discuss. This library is designed by following a modern lifestyle which can be a one stop point. This library has 3 floors which were designed based on the analysis and response from the site location which is on Jalan Rajawali. Supporting facilities are positioned at the front because the front area of the building faces the main road so there is noise, while the library is positioned at the back to avoid noise generated by vehicles because the library needs quiet. In order to make visitors not feel bored in the room and can breathe fresh air, there is an inner court and outdoor area that can be used for visitors. This library is designed based on the lifestyle of teenager and young executives so that this library can be used as a one stop point for them, this is done by providing supporting facilities in the form of a cafe, fitness club, auditorium and exhibition.
