Abstract

Microbial activity has an important role in the digestion process of cattle. The aim of the research was to study the effect of amoniation Total Mixed Fiber (TMF) utilization with organic mineral supplementation in ration to populations of cellulolytic bacteria and rumen protozoa by in vitro. The research was held from September to December 2017 in experimental farm of animal science department agriculture faculty, Sriwijaya university, and microbiology laboratory of animal science faculty, Bogor agricultural institut. The experiment used Completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications was applied on this research. The treatments were P1 control ration (0 x macro organic mineral Ca, P and S), P2 (0.75 x macro organic mineral Ca, P and S), P3 (1 x macro organic mineral Ca, P and S), P4 (1.5 x macro organic mineral Ca, P and S). Observed parameters were the population of cellulolytic bacteria, the population of rumen protozoa and the total population of rumen bacteria. The result showed that organic macro mineral supplementation in TMF ammoniation as basal ration significantly affect (P<0,05) to cellulolytic bacterial population and rumen protozoa population, while not significant effect (P> 0,05) to total bacterial population. The best level of macro organic mineral supplementation in the basal ration of ammonia TMF was 1.5 X recommendation of the NRC (2000) with the total population of cellulotic bacteria produced at 9.59 log sell / ml of rumen fluid, total rumen protozoa at 4.50 log sell / ml rumen fluid, and bacteria total population at 9,99 log sell / ml rumen fluid.
