Abstract

This research examines the Phenomenon of Female Farm Workers in Supporting Family Economic Resilience in Sumber Harjo Village, Buay Madang Timur Sub-District, Oku Timur Regency, focusing on female farm workers in supporting family economic resilience. The purpose of this study is to understand and comprehend the phenomenon of female farm workers in supporting family economic resilience. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data for this research were obtained through observations, in-depth interviews with nine informants, documentation, and literature review. The approach used is the role approach according to Biddle and Thomas, with significant roles and positional characteristics. The results of this research show that female farm workers, also functioning as homemakers, engage in agricultural activities such as planting and harvesting in the rice fields. The decision for women to work as farm laborers is influenced by economic, family, social, and environmental factors, with the aim of meeting daily needs and saving for the future. Additionally, the research identifies the role of women in supporting family economic resilience.
