Abstract

This research is titled Leadership Style of the Village Head in Mobilizing Community Participation in Village Development (A Study on Leadership Style in Gumawang Village, Belitang Subdistrict, East OKU Regency). The purpose of this research is to determine how the leadership of the Gumawang Village Head mobilizes community participation in village development. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing the transformational leadership theory proposed by Bass and Avolio with four dimensions: (1) Idealized Influence, (2) Inspirational Motivation, (3) Intellectual Stimulation, and (4) Individual Consideration. The problem addressed in this research is the lack of community participation in the development of Gumawang Village. The conclusion of this research is that, when viewed from the perspective of the transformational leadership theory, the leadership style of the village head in Gumawang Village is not yet optimal. This is evidenced by the four dimensions of transformational leadership, where only two dimensions have been maximally applied, while the other two dimensions have not been fully maximized.
