Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami kebiasaan membuang sampah pada masyarakat tepian Sungai Musi di Kelurahan 11 Ulu Kecamatan Seberang Ulu II Kota Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teori yang digunakan ialah teori Max Weber yaitu tindakan sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa kebiasaan membuang sampah ke tepian Sungai Musi sudah sangat sering dilakukan dan terjadi dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Kebiasaan membuang sampah ke tepian sungai tersebut disebabkan oleh motif kurangnya kesadaran dan ketidakpedulian pada masyarakat dalam menjaga lingkungan sungai. Kebiasaan membuang sampah ke tepian Sungai Musi tergolong ke dalam jenis tindakan tradisional dan rasionalitas nilai. Kata Kunci : Kebiasaan, Membuang Sampah, Masyarakat Tepian Sungai.
