Abstract

Cordless technology is becoming a means of communication among the public as the times evolve. Light fidelity, also known as Li-Fi, is the latest technological innovation using visible light communication (VLC). This research uses a series of transmitters and receivers to ensure data transmission using lasers can function properly. In the transmitter circuit, experiments were carried out on laser light intensity by giving different frequency and distance values to each laser (red, purple, green) to find out at what frequency and distance the laser has a good light intensity value. For testing the receiver circuit is done by looking at the difference produced by the solar cell and photodiode, when receiving light from the laser. Testing laser communication with sound, getting the results of a clearly audible voice, when using red and green lasers, while the purple laser does not make a sound that can be heard properly, because of the amount of noise. Among red, green, and purple lasers, excellent output results occur when using a red laser. And the farthest distance is 200 cm. As for the output results at the receiver, photodiode is better than solar cell.
