Abstract

Based on the observations and experiences of researchers who see differences in personality and differences in ways of social interaction between economic education students for the 2019 academic year and economic education students for the 2020 academic year who are members of one organization, the researcher is interested in conducting research with the title "The Influence of Personality Type on Interaction Ability" Social Sciences of Sriwijaya University Economic Education Students for the 2019-2020 Academic Year. This study aims to prove the effect of personality type on social interaction abilities of Sriwijaya University Economics Education students. This type of research is descriptive with quantitative methods using questionnaire and interview data collection techniques. The research sample was Sriwijaya University Economics Education students for the 2019-2020 academic year as many as 103 students who had extroverted and introverted personality types. As many as 26 (25.24%) students have an extrovert personality type and as many as 77 (74.76%) students have an introvert personality type. The hypothesis uses parametric statistics, namely the t test, based on the results of the calculation of the t test, the value of tcount is 2.276 > ttable 1.98373 with a significance level of 0.05, which means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted so that it can be concluded that there is an influence of personality type on the interaction abilities of students of Economics Education at Sriwijaya University academic year 2019-2020. The importance of research on the influence of personality type on the ability of social interaction of students of economic education at Sriwijaya University to determine the personality type possessed by students so that students can understand the character that is in them and see the value of student social interaction based on the personality of each student. Suggestions in this study students should improve their social life in interacting with other people and be expressive when expressing opinions.
