Abstract

Electrical energy is the energy most often used in everyday life, but most of the electrical energy comes from natural resources which will run out one day (non-renewable). The purpose of this research is to find out how mango skin (KM) and Ambon banana peel (KP) can be used to produce electrical energy. To achieve this goal, a voltaic bio-battery cell is used to fill samples of fruit peel extract with raw material concentrations of KP: KM (0%: 100%, 25%: 75%, 50%: 50%, 75%: 25%, and 100 %: 0%). In addition, different fermentation times were used (6, 12, 24, 48 and 96 hours). The results showed that the raw material combination of only Ambon banana peel (100% : 0%) produced a voltage of 0.639 V, a current of 0.00263 A and a power of 0.00168057 W with a fermentation time of 96 hours greater than only mango peel, namely a voltage of 0.735 V, a current of 0.00126 A and power 0.0009261 W with 24 hours fermentation time. While the best mixed results were produced in the combination of raw materials KP: KM (75%: 25%) with a fermentation time of 96 hours, namely a voltage of 0.664 V, a current of 0.00263 A and a power of 0.00174632 W. With experiments using a series circuit, the LED lights can light up, the more many raw material compositions and the longer the fermentation time affects the magnitude of the resulting voltage and current values
