Abstract

TK Kartika II-1 Palembang that there is still a lack of children's science skills in the learning process. This can be seen when 9 children out of 16 children still cannot say the color completely, then when the child mentions the name of the fruit, there are still many children who do not know the fruit, mention the name of the vegetable, and are not able to say the name of the limbs. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of scientific approach on science ability in group B children in TK Kartika II-1 Palembang. This study used a quantitative research approach with a type of pre-experimental research with a One shot case study design. The sampling technique uses purposive sample, namely class B which amounts to 16 children, this class contains various children's abilities such as the presence of children who are lacking, medium, and good abilities so that they are considered able to represent the population. Data collection techniques using tests and documentation. Data analysis techniques use normality tests and T-tests. The results of data analysis using the one sample t-test showed a significant value of 0.457. In accordance with the criteria if a significant value of > 0.05 means that Ho is rejected "There is an influence of scientific approach on science ability in group B children in Tk Kartika II-1 Palembang" and Ha is accepted "There is an influence of scientific approach on science ability in group B children in Tk Kartika II-1 Palembang". The conclusion in this study is the elements of science process skills or inquiry approach, namely the stages of observing, questioning, collecting data, reasoning, and communicating.
