Abstract
This study aims to develop a monitoring system for smart laboratories using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This monitoring system is designed using Cisco Packet Tracer software to simulate an efficient and effective implementation. In this research, integrating CCTV cameras and smoke detectors into an IoT-based network to detect and track important events in the laboratory environment. The method used includes network topology design involving CCTV devices and smoke detectors connected to the main network device. CCTV cameras are used to monitor activities in the laboratory in real-time, while smoke detectors are used to detect the presence of smoke or potential fires. The data from these two devices is sent to a central server which collects and analyzes the information. The simulation results show that the implemented monitoring system can produce a quick response to detected events, such as fires. In addition, users can remotely access video and data from CCTV devices and smoke detectors via smartphone. Through this research, it shows the potential of implementing an IoT-based intelligent monitoring system for laboratories that can improve security and operational performance. The use of Cisco Packet Tracer technology as a simulation tool makes it easy to design and test network configurations before real implementation is carried out. This study forms the foundation for the development of a more complex and scalable intelligent monitoring system in the future.
