Abstract

The environment is one of the most influential factors on health. The importance of a healthy environment has been proven by WHO with investigations around the world where it is found that the mortality rate, high ratio of sick people and frequent epidemics are found in places of poor environmental hygiene and sanitation, namely places where there are lots of flies. , mosquitoes, irregular garbage and excreta disposal, poor domestic water, overcrowded housing and poor socioeconomic conditions. This study aims to analyze the environmental sanitation of boarding houses in the Pipa Reja subdistrict including the location of the boarding houses, infrastructure, greening, components of boarding houses, and disease-transmitting stars. This study uses a qualitative design through in-depth interviews, observation. Informants in the study were the owner of the boarding house, the occupants of the boarding house, the community, the head of the RT, and the environmental health department of the Pipa Reja health center.
