Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to produce e-modules for writing procedural texts using google sites that are valid, practical, and effective in use. The subjects of this study were students of class VII SMP IT Harapan Mulia Palembang. This study uses the development method with the Dick, Carey, and Carey model. Methods of data analysis using interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The e-module validity test was validated by three expert validators. Testing the validity of the material experts obtained an average score of 4.75 in the very valid category, the validity test of the linguists obtained an average score of 4.33 in the very valid category, and the validity test of the media experts obtained an average score of 4.92 in the very valid category. The e-module practicality test was obtained from the results of the e-module practicality test on students through one-to-one trials obtaining an average score of 4.16 in the practical category, small group trials obtaining an average score of 4.21 in the very practical category, and the field test trials obtaining an average score of 4.14 in the practical category. Testing the effectiveness of the e-module in writing procedural texts using Google Sites was obtained from the results of the pretest test obtaining an average score of 54.95 in the incomplete category, while the posttest test obtained an average score of 81.25 in the complete category. Based on the results of research on the development of e-modules for writing procedural texts using google sites that have been carried out for class VII students of SMP IT Harapan Mulia Palembang, it can be concluded that the e-modules for writing procedural texts using google sites are valid and practical to use in learning to write procedural texts, and are effective for improving students' ability to write procedural texts.
