Abstract

Oxygen therapy practicum becomes the basis for nursing science skills. Achievement of competence could be done by simulating real roles. Skills regarding oxygen therapy must be possessed by students of nursing science before practicing in health institusions. Administering oxygen therapy in practice do not use oxygen content and do not comply with the expected dose and are not practiced individually according to standar operating procedures which can result in fatal and serious negligence. The mistake or not meeting the needs in administering oxygen therapy can result in permanent damage to death. This study aims to develop a bed prototype hardware as a media for oxygen therapy practicum, determine the feasibilty level of the prototype from material expert validators and practitioner validators, determine the uselfulness level of the prototype from nursing sciences students. This study used a descriptive design with the approach of research and development (R&D) the borg and gall theory model. The study result of the prototype which as developed have an average feasbility level of material expert validators were 85.71% with very feasible criteria, an average on the user experience questionnaire (UEQ) with attractiveness scale (2.20), efficiency scale (2.16), accuracy scale (1.89), simulation scale (2.25%), novelty scale (2.36) scale get excellent criteria and clarity scale (1.85) with good criteria. The result of the assesment meant that the prototype is functional and can be used in oxygen practical learning.
