Abstract

This research aims to determine competitive and defensive strategies for chicken noodle business performance in the covid-19 pandemic era in terms of productivity, added value, efficiency and profits. This research uses primary data obtained from interviews and questionnaires, while secondary data is obtained from related journals, articles and books. The population in this research is chicken noodle businesses and a sample of 25 chicken noodle business units with the sampling method used is accidental sampling technique. The research results show that the performance of the chicken noodle business in the city of Palembang in terms of labor productivity between the output value and the number of workers used is good, resulting in high added value with an average efficiency of 1.02 percent, which means that the efficiency of the chicken noodle business is efficient. And the profits obtained are also large. In terms of competitive strategy, respondents on average choose to maintain product quality, provide good service, provide relatively affordable prices, choose a strategic place or location. In terms of survival strategy, the average respondent chose not to increase prices during the covid-19 pandemic and they implemented digital marketing to be able to survive during the covid-19 pandemic.
