Abstract

This study examines the effect of thrift shopping on fashion consumption behavior among college students. The problem in this study is that there is thrift shopping with the average person carrying out this activity influencing fashion consumption behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of thrift shopping on fashion consumption behavior among Sriwijaya University students. The method used in this research is associative quantitative analysis. The sample in this study was 100 Sriwijaya University student respondents in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 batches. The sample technique used was proportional random sampling and data collection used a questionnaire. The results showed that thrift shopping had an effect on fashion consumption behavior among Siwijaya University students. Shown by the results of hypothesis testingPearson Product Moment (rcount) of 0.599 which is greater than rtable(0.195) with a significance of 0.05. Based on simple linear regression, the results show that the thrift shopping variable has a significant effect on the consumption behavior of Sriwijaya University students.
