Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of good corporate governance on firm value. The independent variable in this study is good corporate governance which is proxied using the variables of institutional ownership, managerial ownership, board of directors, independent board of commissioners, and audit committee while the dependent variable is firm value. Firm value is measured using price to book value (PBV). The method used in this research is a quantitative method using secondary data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website for 2020 – 2022 by taking samples using a purposive sampling technique in order to obtain 19 banking companies that can be used as research samples. The analysis of this study uses multiple linear regression and uses the SPSS application as a means of data processing. The results of the study show that the good corporate governance variable which is proxied by managerial ownership, the board of directors, and the audit committee has a significant influence on firm value while the good corporate governance variable which is proxied by institutional ownership and the independent board of commissioners does not have a significant effect on firm value.
