Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the hemoglobin in the blood is less than the normal value which can affect oxygen needs in the body, causing a decrease in memory, physical ability and growth and daily activities. One of the factors causing the high incidence of anemia in young women is insufficient knowledge regarding the definition, causes, impacts, as well as prevention and management of anemia. Providing health education about anemia through video media is one way to increase family knowledge about anemia. The purpose of writing this scientific work is to provide family nursing care using video media to increase knowledge about anemia. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The results of the assessment of the three managed families obtained a nursing diagnosis, namely a knowledge deficit related to anemia. These three managed families have received nursing care and management, namely by providing health education about anemia using video media which can increase knowledge. The provision of health education using video media proves that there has been a change in increasing client knowledge regarding anemia and its management so that this media can be used as a medium for health education in the family.
