Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Sectio caesarea is a surgery that aim to delivering a fetus through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. Sectio caesarea can cause complex problem, both psychologically, physically and socially. One of the physical problems that mothers who undergo a sectio caesarea always experience is pain due to surgical wounds. Nursing intervention that can be given to reduce the pain scale of post section caesarea is music therapy. Purpose: Provide nursing care to post sectio caesarea patients by applying the music therapy. Method: This study used a qualitative research with a case study approach in 3 post sectio caesarea patients. Discussion: Music therapy is a very effective distraction. Music can create changes in consciousness through silence, sound, times, and space. Music can help someone reduce physiolpgical pain, stress, and anxiety by distracting a person from pain. Conclusion: Providing classical music therapy can reduce post sectio caesarea section pain as evidence by lowering the pain scale of three patient with post sectio caesara
