Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini, akan dirancang dan dibangun sebuah sistem informasi geografis berbasis aplikasi mobile Android pada pencarian hotel di kota Palembang yang bernama My Hotel Finder. Aplikasi ini memanfaatkan sistem operasi Android pada sisi user dan Google maps server pada sisi server yang terkoneksi langsung dengan database google maps sehingga melalui koneksi jaringan telekomunikasi mobile (internet) aplikasi ini dapat menyediakan konten secara real time. Aplikasi My Hotel Finder dapat menampilkan pencarian informasi hotel, lokasi hotel, dan rute hotel yang akan user tuju. Sehingga user yang memiliki smartphone berbasis Android dapat memperoleh informasi lokasi pencarian hotel yang diinginkan secara cepat, mudah, dan fleksibel. Tujuan pembuatan aplikasi ini adalah untuk bagaimana user dapat melakukan pencarian informasi lokasi dalam bentuk peta dimana saja dan kapan saja user butuhkan serta mempermudah dalam pengambilan keputusan. Aplikasi ini dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Java dan Eclipse IDE dan GoogleMaps yang berfungsi sebagai lingkungan pengembangan sistem operasi Android. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) dengan pendekatan metode berbasis object oriented.
