Abstract

The purpose of this research was to assess the quality of test questions used in evaluating student learning outcomes in the subject of chemistry in class 11 Sains for the even semester at Srijaya Negara Palembang High School in terms of material, construction, language, validity, reliability, distinguishing power, level of difficulty, and distractor effectiveness. The descriptive qualitative approach and the quantitative method were employed in the research, which was aided by the software ANATES v4 and SPSS version 26. Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation. The results of the research revealed that: Qualitative analysis of the questions showed that 92% of the material aspects were fulfilled, 98% of the construction aspects were fulfilled, and 98% of the language aspects were fulfilled. Based on the results of this research, it can be accomplished to infer that the questions were of high quality, although some still need to be revised and rejected to fulfill all the requirements; In quantitative testing, it was found that the validity test was in the good category because it was dominated by valid questions. The reliability value is 0.832, which is included in the reliable category. The test's difficulty level is not yet included in the good category because it is dominated by 71% of questions in the medium category. The test questions should have a balanced proportion of difficulty level. The Discriminating Power Test received a very good category (28 questions in the fair, good and very good categories), and the effectiveness of the distractor was of good quality.
