Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of targeted overhead service drill exercises on the accuracy of overhead service among participants in the volleyball extracurricular activity at SMK Negeri 8 Palembang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with “The One Group Pretest Posttest design”. The population for this study consists of 30 participants. The sampling technique employed in this research is total sampling, meaning all 30 participants were included. The instrument used to measure overhead service accuracy is the AAHPER Serving Accuracy, which has a validity score of 0.92 and a reliability score of 0.69. Data analysis was performed using a significance level of 5%. The results indicate that targeted overhead service drill exercises have a significant effect on improving the accuracy of overhead service among participants in the volleyball extracurricular activity at SMK Negeri 8 Palembang. This conclusion is supported by the calculated t-value of 13.216 > t-table of 2.045, and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, with a percentage increase of 30.25%. The implication of the research results is that the results of the study can be used as a training method and become a reference in designing training programs in improving the accuracy of volleyball service.
