Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Indigofera leaves on Hymenachne acutigluma silage on dry matter content, organic matter content, and ash content. This research was carried out from August to October 2023 at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Feed of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used the Complete Randomized Design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 4 repeats. The treatment consists of A0: Hymenachne acutigluma (control), A1: 90% Hymenachne acutigluma + Indigofera 10%, A2: 80% Hymenachne acutigluma + Indigofera 20%, and A3: 70% Hymenachne acutigluma + Indigofera 30%. The parameters observed are dry matter, organic matter, and ash content. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the addition of legume levels affects the nutrition of the silage content. The treatment of A3 with 70% Hymenachne acutigluma plus Indigofera legumes at a level of 30% showed a dry matter value of 29.31% higher than A0 of 27.43%, A1 of 27.92%, and A2 of 28.07%. In the value of organic matter content, it is also seen that A3 is 28.16% higher than A0 by 26.55%, A1 by 27.04%, and A2 by 27.11%. Likewise, the ash content of the A3 value of 3.90% is higher than that of the A0 value of 3.19%, the A1 value of 3.14%, and the A2 value of 3.41%. This is due to the interaction between the legume Indigofera and Hymenachne acutigluma, which can increase the nutritional value of the silage.
