Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk dan persentase miskonsepsi yang dialami oleh peserta didik di SMA PGRI 1 Palembang pada materi Hukum Newton. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA 4 SMA PGRI 1 Palembang berjumlah 37 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan four tier diagnostik test yang terdiri dari 10 soal. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tabel interpretasi hasil tes diagnostic four tier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 50,3% peserta didik mengalami miskonsepsi yang dikategorikan dalam kategori miskonsepsi sedang. Miskonsepsi tertinggi ditemukan pada konsep gaya berat sebesar 64,9% yang termasuk dalam miskonsepsi kategori dominan. Sedangkan miskonsepsi terendah ditemukan pada konsep Hukum III Newton sebesar 27% yang termasuk dalam miskonsepsi kategori kurang dominan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi mengenai miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada peserta didik SMA PGRI 1 Palembang pada materi Hukum Newton serta dapat menjadi saran penelitian lanjutan untuk mengetahui penyebab miskonsepsi dan upaya meremediasi miskonsepsi tersebut.
