Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) describe processor way in getting raw material inventory to produce salted fish. (2) analyze income from salted fish sales business. (3) to compre between standard of decent living and income from salted fish. The study was conducted in Sumber Jaya Village, Kampung Melayu Sub-district, Bengkulu. The method used in research was survey method. Census technique has been used as in getting data for this research with total population were 30 respondents. Primary data and secondary data were collected in October 2017. The result showed that the main ingredients of salted fish processing are fresh fish and salt. Fresh fish are obtained from fishermen at Fish Auction Places (TPI) and salt is obtained from stalls and markets around their business location. The average total income of salted fish business in Sumber Jaya Village is Rp826.837 per month. The standard of living for salted fish producers shows the results are not prosperous based on total income from salted fish Rp826.837 per month and still make the difference Rp3.872.814 from the standard of living cost of Rp4.699.651
