Abstract
The purpose of this research is: to describe how busy book media can help improve early reading skills in children aged 4-5 years with the subject of 9 children 5 girls 4 boys. The method used in this research is classroom action research method (PTK). The research model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart This method is carried out with four stages, namely, the planning stage, the action stage, observation and reflection. the four stages are a cycle that takes place repeatedly and is carried out with the same steps and focused on learning as a practice of beginning reading skills through busy book media.The results showed that in the pre-action children who got the highest score were 40.47%. At the cycle I meeting, the percentage of children increased by 23.81% with a cycle I percentage of 64.28%. While in cycle II the percentage of children increased by 27.38% with a cycle II percentage of 91.67 and based on the average children's beginning reading ability in pre-action of 31.22, in cycle I it increased by 50.9 and in cycle II it increased by 76.7 and the increase was more than the expected increase to be achieved.In using busy book media, children's liveliness and seriousness can be seen.
