Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of compensation and competence on the performance of ad hoc employees at the General Election Commission of Ogan Ilir District. The sampling method used was census method with the total samples of 85 respondents. The analysis technique used in this study was Multiple Linear Regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that 1) Compensation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 2) Competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Suggestions that can be submitted: 1) It is necessary to provide salaries that are differentiated based on the level of education of employees, so the employees who have a higher level of education can have a more adjusted salary difference; 2) Need to provide the employees training based on employees’ job, so that can affect the employee performance.
