Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the analysis of lecturers and students need in the Palembang Traditional Malay Theater Course for Teaching Media for Drama Performances based on Google Sites, (2) produce a Google Sites based plan for Teaching Media for Drama Performances based on the results of the analysis of the needs of lecturers and students in the Palembang Traditional Malay Theater Course, (3) describes the results of expert validation of Google Sites-based Drama Performance Teaching Media that has been created by researchers, (4) determines the practicality of Google Sites-based Drama Performance Teaching Media based on field trials. This research and development uses the theory development method of Alessi & Trollip (2001) which is in accordance with the needs of researchers. This Google Sites-based Teaching Media for Drama Performances was prepared based on the results of an analysis of the needs of lecturers and students in the Palembang Traditional Malay Theater Course. This learning media framework consists of: A theater guide, examples of theater performances based on local poetry and reference books. This learning media has been validated by three experts, namely: material experts, media experts and language experts. Based on the validation result, this Google Sites-based Drama Performance teaching media is suitable for testing in the field with revisions according to the suggestions given. Based on the results of field trials, it can be concluded that this teaching media is practically used by students in studying the components that can determine success of a drama performance.
