Abstract

Technological developments that continue to develop and advance make fintech applications compete to continue to carry out new innovations. This innovation can be in the form of ease of transactions, promotions provided, or other features related to the fintech application. Due to developments in payment technology, the phenomenon of using the paylater payment method has emerged which is now in demand by the public. This research aims to find out how the innovative PayLater payment system is adopted among PayLater students, especially communication science students class of 2018. In this research, qualitative methods were used and data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and documentation. The main theory used in this research is the theory of diffusion of innovation put forward by Everet Rogers. The results of this research reveal the process of accepting innovation which includes five elements, namely, Knowledge (Knowledge Stage), Persuasion (Persuasion Stage), Decision (Decision Making Stage), Implementation and Confirmation (Consolidation Stage) are going well.
