Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze factors that influenee the household consumption rice level rural region and urban region and also to saw the rise of household income which influenee the change of household consumption rice level (Marginal Propensity to Consume/MPC) in Tanjung Sari and Tugu Mulyo Lempuing district of Ogan Komering Ilir regency. This research used secondaiy time series data and primary data from household was processed SPSS 11,5 Computer program. The household consumption rice level were analyzed with Cobb- Douglas regression model has a coefficient determination of 0,99. From F-test statistic, its proved that independent variables all together influences the dependen! variable at significant level on one pereent. The factors which influenee the household consumption rice level household income level, family members, rice price, composition of age family members, composition of sex family members, education family members level. The household consumption rice level in urban region more influenee with family members, composition of age family members, composition of sex family members, education family members level than household income level and rice price. For family consumption rice level in rural region more influenee with household were income level, family members, composition of age family members, education family members level. The household income level for urban region were higher than rural region, they are Rp1.226.500,00/mounth and Rp306.500,00/mounth. The household consumption rice level in urban region were higher than rural region they are 40,5 kg/mounth and 37 kg/mounth. Because the household in rural region have low income so they consumed rice economize by combine the rice with oyek which made from cassava. The Analyzing of Marginal Propensity to Consume in Lempuing District showed that the rise of household rice consumption would be decrease with the rise of household income, this were showed with rice MPC value for urban region were lower than rural region.
