Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of workload and compensation on employee performance of PT PLN (Persero) South Sumatra Generating Unit (PLN UIKSBS). The data used in this study are primary data using a questionnaire as an instrument to measure the research variables. The questionnaire was circulated by census to all UIKSBS PLN officials whole totaled 114 people as respondents. The data collected from the questionnaire instrument was processed using statistical test tools with multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the workload relationship had a positive and significant direction on the performance of PLN UIKSBS employees and the compensation relationship had a positive and significant direction on the performance of PLN UIKSBS employees. The results of this study are used as input for the PLN UIKSBS office to improve and improve employee performance, by paying attention to workload such as re-evaluating the placement of employees according to their educational background, especially in high-risk work fields. As well as paying attention to employee compensation by socializing rules and policies regarding the calculation of Company incentives to employees and increasing efforts in providing opportunities for self-development by providing promotions to higher positions fairly, in accordance with employee competence, and in accordance with organizational needs.
