Abstract
The objective of this research was to observe response of bean crops {Phaseolus vulgaris L.) which were fertilized with water hyacinth bokashi. The research was done from August 2004 until October 2004 at the researcli station of the department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture , Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir. The research was arranged Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments, and replicated sixth times, so that all comparised of 30 treatment units. Reseach unit was five plants so all, together was 150 plants. The water hyacinth bokashi treatments were B() = without bokashi application (0 ton ha'1), B] = 5 ton ha'1 of water hyacinth bokashi (100 g per plant), B2 = 10 ton ha'! of water hyacinth bokashi (200 g per plant), B| = 15 ton ha'1 of water hyacinth bokashi (300 g per plant), Bj = 20 ton ha'1 of water hyacinth bokashi (400 g per plant). Parameters observed were plant height (m), day of flowering (days), number of pod (pod), pod weight (g), ffesh weight (g), dry weight (g) and harvest-index. There were no significant differences the on parameters; plant height, day of flowering, ffesh weight and dry weight. While, it showed significant on the number of pod, pod weight per plant and harvesting-index. Water hyacinth bokashi treatment give the best 15 ton ha' effect on growth and yield of bean crops.
