Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the best nitrogen fertilizer dose of tissue culture result gambir after four weeks of opening the cover. The research was conducted from July until September 2004 at experimental garden of BDP Major Agriculture’s Faculty University of Sriwijaya Indralaya 01. The method used in this research is a group in random order that repeated for three times. There are four implementations in this case, they are implementation A with dose 0,09 g nitrogen/plant, B 0,18 g nitrogen/plant, C 0,27 g nitrogen/plant and D 0,36 g nitrogen/plant. The result of this reseach have shown that treatment of fertilizing nitrogen really affected the increasing of height and leaf number of gambir, but not affected the presentation of the number leaf fell. The optimum of fertilizing for increasing height and the number of the tissue culture result of gambir’s leaf haven’t known, therefore the further research using heavy dose more than 0,36 g nitrogen but less than 1,15 nitrogen.
