Abstract

The aimed of this research was to find out effects of BAP and NAA hormone for growth single-eye leaf bud of gambir cutting. This research has been done from June to September 2005 at research station of Agronomy Department Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. Design applied in this research was Randomized Completely Block Design arranged factorially with two treatments and three blocks as replication. Both dosages BAP and NAA consisted of four level concentrations i.e. 0, 4, 8 and 12 ppm. The parameters observed were percentage of cutting growth, time of shoot emergence, length of roots, shoots dry weight, roots dry weight, number of roots, length of shoots and number of leaves of each cutting. All treatments affected to all parameters observed compared with control (B0N0). Almost treatments increase percentage of cutting growth, length of roots, shoots dry weight, roots dry weight, number of roots, besides adding time of shoot emergence, but all treatments increase length of shoots and number of leaves. Results of this research showed that cutting treated with 4 ppm BAP combined with 12 ppm NAA in four hours soaking produced 50 % of cutting growth, length of roots, 2,33 g shoots 5,33 cm dry weigth, 2,33 g roots dry weight, number of roots 3,33 pieces and 11,33 cm length of shoots, number of leaves 6 pieces, compared with control (BONO). Increasing of BAP concentration more than 4 ppm, inhibits roots growth and development then inhibits plant growth and development. In other way increasing of NAA concentration more than 4 ppm, promotes roots growth and development then promotes plant growth and development. .
