Abstract

In a series of exploration and exploitation of oil and gas, well log (Well Logging) plays an important role to determine the condition of subsurface formations such as petrophysical properties of rock and fluid types which include porosity, permeability, and water saturation. Study of petrophysical properties, and potential hydrocarbon fluid types can be done by qualitative analysis (reading log curve) and quantitative analysis (calculations) which will then be obtained hydrocarbon zone that covers the depth and thickness. The study area is located in the PT. Pertamina EP Field Asset I Jambi. This study focused on the BTS-142 wells with hydrocarbon prospects zone detection efforts undertaken through a series of logging process consisting of gamma ray logs (gamma ray logs), electric logs (resistivity logs), log density (density log) and neutron logs. The results of these data can then be used to obtain the hydrocarbon zone and the point of perforation. In the analysis of data processing zones petrophysical properties of hydrocarbon prospects, the researchers used a method that aims to find the frequency cut-off value. Based on the research and processing of data on wells BTS-142 cut-off values obtained from shale volume Vsh of < 59%, the porosity of O > 24%, and water saturation of Sw < 53%. Porosity in the well BTS-142 shows that the well reservoir rocks have the ability to store a fluid with a good classification. This shows that the BTS-142 wells had hydrocarbon potential zones are good enough to be developed. This study was conducted to help optimize the production by giving. potential hydrocarbon zones which will be considered by the I Field Asset PT.Pertamina Jambi.
