Abstract

This study has the purpose of knowing the leading sectors in Pagar Alam City. The analysis was carried out by comparing GRDP at 2010 Constant Prices of Pagar Alam City and GRDP at 2010 Constant Prices of South Sumatra Province using the 2017-2021 period, using the Location Quotient (LQ) Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) analysis approach, Growth Ratio Model (MRP), Overlay analysis, Klassen Typology analysis and Shift Share analysis. The results showed that by using a combination of LQ and DLQ tests there were sectors that included quadrant I classification, namely, agriculture, forestry & fisheries sector, construction, transportation and warehousing sector, education services sector. The results of the Klassen typology research and overlay show that the sector that is the main focus of Pagar Alam City in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors then there is a sector that has high potential, namely the trade and services sector. The results of the Shift Share analysis test found that the growth of the GRDP of Pagar Alam City depends on the GRDP growth of South Sumatra Province, the economy of Pagar Alam City has a lower growth rate and competitive level when compared to the economy of South Sumatra Province.
