Abstract
This study was aimed to determine the chance of SRI method in Kelingi irrigation Tugu Mulyo Musi Rawas, South Sumatra. The method used was descriptive comprised primary and secondary data collected through observation and direct interviews using questionnaires. The samples were chosen by using purposive sampling method. Parameters observed were the availability of water irrigation, water irrigation needs, adopted SRI method, the R/C {Return Cost) ratio, and the BEP {Break Even Point) production. The collected data were analyzed based on the social culture and economical aspects, which were then presented in tables and I graphs. Analysis of R/C ratio indicated that SRI method was profitable as conventional method. This was indicated by the R/C ratio (RC > 1) with the respective values of 2.21 and 2.68. BEP (Break Even Point) for organic SRI method and the conventional method calculated to 3,271 kg and 2,803kg respectively. Application of organic SRI method of rice cultivation will increase the production and income of rice farmers. I
