Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has brought extraordinary innovation to the fields of education and industry. Devices that adopt this technology offer a variety of capabilities that vary greatly depending on their constituent components. In the agricultural sector, for example, automation of tasks can lead to higher efficiency and reduced production costs. However, the main challenge in developing IoT devices is the problem of data transmission. The focus of this research is on implementing OTA on ESP32 devices by utilizing OTA Web Updater. The aim is to increase the efficiency and security of the device programming process through firmware updates without the need for a physical connection via cable. This research discusses the application of the OTA mechanism on the ESP32 by including an ultrasonic sensor, infrared (IR) sensor and vibration sensor. The integration of these sensors improves the device's ability to detect its surroundings and respond intelligently. Thus, the ESP32 device can provide a more adaptive solution in IoT applications, especially in large-scale devices involving various sensor nodes. This implementation also includes an OTA Web Updater to simplify and increase the speed of Over The Air programming. Experimental results show that the integration of these sensors together with the OTA Web Updater makes a positive contribution to the ease of development, maintenance and responsiveness of ESP32-based IoT devices in various application contexts.
