Abstract
The aim of this study was to deleneat the best media composition for the growth of duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) seedlings. The experiment was conducted in the loth of Faculty of Agriculture University of Sriwijaya, ffom November 2006 until May 2007. The experiment design used was Ramdomized Completely Block Design with three replications, each replication consisted of eight treatments. Each treatment consisted of five seedlings. Total seedlings was 120 seedlings. The treatments were soil (Mo), soil + rice husk (Mi), soil + manure (M2), soil + sawdust (M3), s and + manure + rice husk (M4), s and + manure + sawdust (M5), soil + sand + rice husk (M&) and soil + s and + manure (M7). The parameters observed were the height of seedlings, leaf number, stem’s circumference and the total leaf area . The result showed that the highest leaf number and total leaf area was showed by the treatment M6, consisted of soil : sand : rice husk (1:1:1 v/v/v). The highest seedling height and the highest stem’s diameter was showed by treatment Mo only soil. The lowest seedling height, leaf number, stem’s circumference and total leaf area were showed by treatment M7, consisted of soil: sand : manure (1:1:1 v/v/v).
