Abstract
The formulation of the problem in this study is how the survival strategy of street vendors in the 16 Ilir market of Palembang City during the Covid - 19 pandemic and how the obstacles of street vendors in the 16 Ilir market of Palembang City during Covid -19. This research uses qualitative research methods and data collection in this research is field research by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there are three survival strategies used by street vendors in the 16 Ilir market of Palembang City to be able to survive and meet their daily needs during the Covid - 19 pandemic, namely 1. Active strategies by diversifying businesses and also utilizing family members to be able to get additional income. 2. Passive strategies by implementing a lifestyle of frugality. 3. Network strategy by utilizing social networks such as by establishing relationships with the social environment and an institution. The obstacles faced by street vendors at the 16 Ilir market in Palembang City include financial capital to sell their goods, limited access to technology to be able to optimize online sales, changes in regulations and changing activity restrictions which hinder street vendor sales.
