Abstract
The application of the concept of sustainable construction certainly attracts the attention of various groups, especially for those in the construction industry. construction with sustainable concepts is believed to be able to provide good impact on the environment in the present and even in the future considering the population in Indonesia increases every year. Reporting from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), the population in Indonesia in 2023 increased by 1.05% with a total population of 278,696.2 thousand people from the previous year. This encourages the Indonesian government to make an innovation with a concept that emphasises sustainable construction. In 2007 the Indonesian government began to introduce a concept called green construction. This concept refers to principles and practices in the construction industry that aim to reduce negative impacts on the environment and promote sustainability. The main goal of this concept is to create buildings and infrastructure that are more environmentally friendly, efficient in the use of resources, and healthy for its inhabitants. In the process of implementing this green construction concept, it is necessary to find determinants and strategies that can affect the success of its implementation and of course the contractor is the key to the successful implementation of this concept. The results of data analysis show that there are several key factors that influence the successful implementation of the Green Construction concept in Palembang City. These factors include environmental awareness, government support, availability of green resources, stakeholder involvement, and contractor company management commitment.
